YEAR 9 MUSIC

Curriculum: Basic Theory, Basic Guitar, Basic Keyboard, Musical Knowledge Topics, Composition, and Aural recognition.

Time allotment: 13 weeks

YEAR 10 MUSIC

Curriculum: Basic and advanced Theory, Guitar 2, Keyboard 2, Musical Knowledge Topics, Composition 2, Aural recognition, NCEA Performance assessment oportunity.

Time allotment: 6 months

Assessed units: Guitar Keyboard, Musical Knowledge, and Performance

Assessment outline: As referred to in the Management document

SENIOR MUSIC - Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Curriculum: Advanced Theory, Musical Knowledge Topics, Composition 2, Aural recognition, NCEA Solo and Group Performance

Time allotment: 1 year.

Assessed units: All units assessed as Achievement Standards (as listed in the Management Document)

Assessment outline:  As referred to in the Management document

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY LEVELS 1,2 and 3.

Curriculum: Solo and Group performance, Arrangement, Loudspeaker and microphone technology, Amplifier and recording desks.

Assessed units: Performance, Arrangement, technology units, all assessed as Unit Standards.

All written resourses: located in the shelves at the North end of the Music block (books, scores, dictionarys, theory primers, written resourses),

Aural and Video resourses:  located in the music office shelves (on the West side of the office wall).
