UNIT

UNIT AIM

Assessment Required

Term 1

Aquatics

Students will take responsibility for the safety of self and others in an aquatic environment through developing life saving skills.

v

Athletics

Students will develop the skills required to take part in the 5 star athletics award. They will work on improving then initial performance and take part in a mini Olympics

v

ABL

By participating in a series of ABL activities in conjunction with the Hellsion’s social responsibility. Students will apply physical and interpersonal skills to a range of activities. Students will be challenged to co-operate in group situations using each others strengths, weaknesses and interpersonal skills

Term 2

Movement

Students will experience different forms of movement/dance and investigate how social dance has changed over time

Fitness

Students will develop the an understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and will develop the skills to enable them to enhance their level of physical fitness.

Term 3

Fitness

Continued from term 2

Striking

Students will develop the skills required to participate in a variety of striking sports ( Badminton/soccer)

v

Term 4

Touch Rugby

Students will develop the skills associated with touch rugby, participate in an inter class competition and describe the affects on their well being

v

Minor Games

Students will participate in a variety of games to develop their fair play and movement skills.
