ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Entry agreed to by this year’s Science teacher or the Head of Science.

COURSE CONTENT:

The topics covered are rate of reaction, atoms, bonding fuels, calculations, energy changes, equilibrium, acids and bases, titrations, carbon compounds, redox and precipitation.

HOW IS IT ASSESSED?

A combination of internally and externally assessed achievement and unit standards totalling at least 24 credits.

WHERE DOES IT LEAD?

Level 3 Chemistry and many Science based careers and university courses. You must do Level 2 if you want to do Level 3 Chemistry. It is also helpful for higher level Physics courses.

COSTS:

A $18 lab manual is required.
