Junior Activity Week 


The cartwheel is a basic and common gymnastics skill that will strengthen your upper body and help you work your way up to more advanced moves. There are two basic types: the side-to-side and the front-to-back cartwheel. To do the side-to-side cartwheel, you'll start and end in the same direction.
Specific Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the cues for a cartwheel

Lesson Outline:

  • Safety
  • Cartwheel 
  • Cartwheel technical steps: 
     start with arms outspread & legs shoulder width apart;

  • bend body to right & place right hand on floor; follow with left hand, left foot, and right hand; 

  • keep body straight & extended when in inverted position.
