Intro to gymnastics/assessment/expectations
Teacher discusses Outcomes and Safety practices for Gymnastics. ie. Non-contact spotting
Station 1
Go over different landing techniques
Landing on feet - The absorption of force should be via the knee joint.
Focus: motor cycle landing – toes, balls of feet, heels, knees, hips, chest up, arms in front - Hold landing 3 seconds

Give him/her a grade for each of the key points

Station 2
Landing on hands (Prone) - Absorb the fall with your hands all the way down. Keep the body straight through the fall, do not arch back. Finish with chest and shoulders just barely off the mat. Hold the position for 3 seconds.

Landing on hands (backwards) - This position allows the elbow to bend and the force to be absorbed through the fingers to the elbow. Fingers must always be pointing towards the toes. Hold the position for 3 seconds.
