Lesson Four: Rules & Net shots: Gym based

Specific Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this student will be able to:

  • In their own words describe the characteristics of a correctly played net badminton shot (kill, lift & drop)
  •  Attempt an net badminton shot.
  • Play shots in a modified badminton game
  • Officiate a modified badminton game using appropriate calls and rules 
    Lesson Outline:
    • Warm up skills
    • The Rules of Badminton
    • The net shots
     
     Students are to be placed into small groups. Each group is to explain + demonstrate 1 rule that relates to any rule in badminton. Each group will be given 5 mins to organise themselves

    Net Kill

    Net kill is a shot played when your opponent has played a loose shot over the net, providing an opening to strike the shuttle down from the net area.
