Natural Selection
Darwin devised the theory of Natural Selection.  You need to be very familiar with this theory and the principles that it is based on.  Lamarck came up with the theory of acquired characteristics.  If a giraffe stretched its neck to reach the top leaves on a tree then Lamarck proposed that the giraffe's neck would become longer.  Darwin based his theory on the fact that there is over population of species which creates a struggle for survival.  Those that are better adapted will reach sexual maturity and produce more offspring.  Gradually the favourable allele will increase in frequency and there will be a change in the population.  Remember evolution is a very gradual process.
