Junior Activity Week 
This refers to how we get the characteristics we have from our parents.  Our DNA carries the code to produce proteins according to order of the bases in the DNA.  If the order is changed we can have a mutation.  Mutations are normally harmful.  The length of DNA which codes for one characteristic is a gene. 
There are a lot of new terms to get used to in this topic.
