Overall grade The final judgement for Achievement, Merit and Excellence will be awarded as follows:

To gain Excellence: Excellence levels must be met in 1 part and Achieved in the participation log book

To gain Merit: Merit levels must be met in 1 part and Achieve in the log  

To gain Achieved: Achievement levels must be met in both parts

Part 1 Practical

Participate in a number of Circus activities.

Use the self assessment sheet (below) to self-assess your performance.

The select four of the six events you need to consider are: juggling, gutter board, hacky, uni cycle, speed stacking and skipping.

For each of these areas, tick the appropriate box that best indicates your performance.

 

To gain Excellence: 17+ points

To gain Merit: 14 - 16 points

To gain Achieved: 9 - 13 points
To gain Not Achieved: 0 - 8 points
  

Part 2 Logbook

·       For this task you will be required to keep a logbook for the duration of this circus unit.

·       At the end of this lesson you are to hand in your log book for marking.

·       Your log book will be assessed on range of criteria and you will be expected to complete the recording tasks required by the log book, these tasks will be given to you at the beginning of the unit and at the end of particular lessons as homework tasks.

Your logbook will be assessed on the following criteria/Checklist

·       All sections completed fully

·       Detail given in diary entries

5 successful catches in a row at a distance of 1 meter  from the board


Level 2

= 2 points

5 successful catches in a row at a distance of 2 meters from the board

Level 3

= 3 points

5 catches in a row at a distance of 2 meters with your non dominate throwing & catching hand.

Level 4

= 4 points

3 catches in a row from a distance of 4 meters from the board


Level  5

= 5 points

3/5 catches at a distance of 5 meters from the board

 
  - Skipping

25 unbroken single skips


Level 2

50 skips in under 30 seconds


Level 3

= 3 points

50 skips plus two tricks in under 30 seconds

1 double under plus one single skip twice

Speed Stacking
