What Are Striking/Fielding Games?
Quick Description: Players on the batting team strike an object and attempt to run between two points before the fielding team can recuperate the object. Tactical Problems related to Striking and Fielding Games include striking the object, fielding the object, running the points.
Examples: Baseball, Softball, Cricket, Kickball


There are three assessments for the softball
1) Batting practical test
2) Throwing practical test
3) Written rules test
 
Batting Assessment
Students are to hit Six balls. The ball is pitched underarm to the batter. The aim is to hit the 
ball out of the diamond on both sides of the field. Five must go to the left of the field and five 
to the right of the field. The point system determines what mark the students get.
 
0= foul or miss hit
1= Inside the diamond 
2= Outside the diamond

Throwing
Students get six balls to throw. They stand at home base and throw each of the balls to the 
bases in order, 1,2,3,1,2,3. if they miss a base then they carry on in the throwing order
 
Points 
0= Ball bounces before the base or goes straight over the top
1= Catcher has to move one step of the base to catch the ball
2= Throw is accurate to the base and the catcher receives the ball with foot on base
