Junior Activity Week 
Most careers in the services require a minimum of level 1 science. However, there are some trades which require a higher qualification. These are;

- Dental assistant (Level 2 science, preferably biology)
- Electronics technician (Level 2 physics)
- Medic (Level 2 science, preferably biology)
- Systems engineer (Level 2 physics)

- Airborne tactical officer (Level 2 science, preferably physics)
- Helicopter pilot (Level 2 science, preferably physics)
- Marine engineering officer (Level 3 physics)
- Weapon engineering officer (Level 3 physics)

Air force
- Aircraft technician (Level 2 science)
- Air warfare specialist (Level 2 science)
- Armament technician (Level 2 science)
- Avionics technician (Level 2 science)
- Communications and information systems technician (Level 2 science)
- Intelligence specialist (Level 2 science)
- Medic (Level 2 science)
- Pilot (Level 2 physics)
